MATCH DAY REPORT

Stubborn Paco hold out South!

In what was undoubtedly the biggest league match in our clubs history, Saturday night certainly lived up to its billing. We were a bit concerned during the day that the rain would not hold out for the evening match however the Gods looked upon us and provided a clear night.

The Day started with our magnificent volunteers ensuring that the ground was up to standard, by borrowing sponges and a super sopper from the Tennis club next door, by time the under 21 referee turned up the rain had cleared however the game was cancelled in order to leave the playing surface up to standard for the big one!

The game started with South Melbourne applying some early pressure when in the 8th minute disaster struck as we had one of our players sent off. The game was always going to be a massive task with 11 players on the field let alone a man down, This is when the famous Pascoe Vale team spirit and determination kicked in.

The players needed to stand up and be counted and that’s exactly what they did, the coaching was superb and the defending was immense.The match finished 0-0 and although this club doesn’t celebrate draws, I can assure you that this was an exception.

We continue to impress the opposition by the atmosphere created at Hosken reserve not only by the way our teams go about their business, but also our alfresco area serving Pizza , Outdoor Bar along with our great Canteen and above all the warm family environment.
